The Sower, Sedgefen

The path follows the river at first, then goes across open meadows, then long sandy track for 2 miles. From Lakenheath Station, the walk continues along River Ouse through RSPB reserve for 2 1/2 miles. Then follows farm tracks and small roads through open farmland

From Way station, retrace steps to River Bridge From Brandon House Hotel turn down L onto riverside path Turn L over weir Follow path to R opposite playing field Turn R then take L fork after 100 yards over wooden bridge, turn R At end of lane, turn R – Bridleway (BW) and footpath (FP) signs – Hereward Way Follow tracks to L through kissing gate Across meadow, then straight ahead keeping railway track on R Turn R (path ends straight ahead) L at BW post At next post turn R (Sandy Drove) Turn R onto byway (Chalk Road) Straight ahead where there is a L fork towards Hiss Farm At road turn L over railway crossing FP path is just after entrance to RSPB reserve road. Walk along FP for 3 miles to pumping station Take path to R of pumping station, climb bank to access path leaving “boarded-up” bungalow on L
Cross mainline railway and proceed ahead Path widens At un-metalled road, turn R Follow road to L then at road turn R Turn R by house then to side of locked gate down overgrown track.
Turn L By house, Turn R At road, go straight ahead. The Way Station is on the R.
